Our Story

The Special Needs Families Collaborative (SNFC) is an exciting collaborative effort to convene Long Beach's special needs service providers, educators and city officials. The purpose of the collaborative is to build a network of stakeholders focusing on improving the continuity of care, support and advocacy for families and caregivers of children with special needs. As the third largest city in Southern California, we are striving to make Long Beach a beacon for inclusion and diversity that not only embrace but advance our most vulnerable populations.

  1. Convene siloed service providers to build an integrated resource and referral mechanism for the special needs community in the city of Long Beach
  2. Implement a service navigation platform in the Long Beach Public Library (Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library)
  3. Maximize collective effors to advance systemic change through advocacy for health equity
